Now it’s back to work…
Am sure some of you knew already , But if you didn’t here goes…

The first ever Game Jam to hold in Nigeria comes up this month (January) from the 23rd to the 27th… at the Computer Science Department in Unilag (University of Lagos) . Personally am not a fan of Lagos… Waaaayyy to move traffic but this is certainly worth it

We are excited to say that we’ll be there and we are indeed the featured game. We’ll be showing off what we’ve been working on for the past few months and answering any questions people might have… And yes.. you’ll be hearing the official commercial release date for Titi Tilapia right there… It’s been fun…

Fola came in from Port-Hatrcourt, Jeff , Boma and Myself were all here, It was the very first time we were all in the same room and it was nice.

That’s our production space, yes…it’s in my house …

We have made several decisions including final number of levels, potential release dates,additions to gameplay will be meeting again Tomorrow (Monday the 23rd) before Fola heads Out.

Thanks to Community member SoulBlade, who keeps in regular contact with us and shares his opinions of the game, it’s cause of you i finally got some work done on titi today after not touching the project for about 5 days…. thanks for the support

So…

YIPPIE…I just added an extra element to gameplay…Besides “X” for regular swimming, “C” now serves as a turbo or boost button for about a second or so, this will not only help you speed up just a tad bit in some stages, but will allow u cleaverly evade some of okoro’s goons in other’s

(the team had actually decided on this feature a while back and i just got around to implementing it)

As for the pause menu, Am almost done with that, it shows up and works properly when you press the escape button, but am now trying to figure out how to globally “pause’ all physics simulations and background animations during that time….

learning a lot as we go along….

Hi people, So back in January when we realeased the Demo, one of the major complaints we got was the lack of a way to pause or escape the game.. A fundamental basic in any game…(My bad…i screwed up)

So i just finished design work on the menu and thought you all should see it, What do you think about it?

Lemme know cause tomorrow, i begin coding it into the game and i really hope this makes the cut with you guys….

So we recently spotted this article on a Filipino Site about Titi Tilapia…

After reading it we wondered why they said they found the title funny… So we did some research… It would turn out… Titi in Filipino means …ummm…..urrr…errrr….

Infact just google it…type  ”titi in filipino”

hehehe…..

So at the moment we are looking as far as completely switching game engines’ with Unity3d being an obvious choice, the advantages being Multiple deployment options (PC, Mac, Android and Ipad) and much better tools (Global Illumination, Dynamic Shadows, Better AI tools…etc) than our current engine… (3impact) but that engine is faster and allows very rapid development (yes…..much faster than Unity),and we’ve already done so much work on it, switching would be like a total revamp…

Plus while I double as one, our team still lacks a full time programmer which is essential for Unity…(my Javascript and C# skills aren’t exactly up to par….current engine uses AngelScript)

So do we finish this and have a “completed game” under our belt? even if it’s not perfect ….before we choose to learn new things…. or….

Do we go back and rework the entire game(switching engines) to produce a bigger better game , knowing the risks involved?

So at the moment, am talking with the team and doing a Unity3d crash course, in the next few days, we’ll make final decisions…..
